Mark Hood has spent more than four decades in the construction industry, and the company he founded in 1986 has completed projects in many arenas, from education to health care, hospitality to industrial. A graduate of The Citadel, Hood focuses on strategic analysis of the methods and means of the construction and project management process in each project his company undertakes. One important part of Hood’s management strategy is a laser focus on safety, with regular safety meetings, in-house training, and more. As a result, the company has received zero OSHA citations in the past five years. The company received the Carolinas AGC Presidential Award for Zero Lost Time Incidents. Hood takes an active role in community service, taking on leadership roles for Camp Cole, Hammond School, SCISA board of directors, the Oliver Gospel Mission, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has taken on many roles with the Carolinas AGVC, including as executive board chairman, executive board treasurer, Mechanical Contractors Joint Cooperative Committee member, and chairman of the Building Services Division. He was inducted into the 2022 Hall of Fame. He and his wife Susan have two children and five grandchildren.
