Ryan Coleman

Ryan Coleman is the economic development director for the City of Columbia and has worked for the city since 2006. He and his team work to transform Columbia into a world-class city through the recruitment of new business and investment, providing support for existing local businesses, assisting the growth and development of startups, and providing marketing and promotion for businesses. Economic Development staff are focused on growing Columbia’s base of talent, technology, and equitable opportunities for the city’s businesses and residents. Coleman has been accredited since January of 2012 as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). He is also a two-time board member of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association (SCEDA) and helps manage the Local Developers Committee.
