Cornerstone Adds Public Affairs Expert Cameron Smith Jenkins in South Carolina

Cornerstone Government Affairs, an employee-owned, bipartisan government affairs and strategic communications firm, announced that Cameron Smith Jenkins has joined the firm as a vice president on its Public Affairs team.

Based in Columbia, Jenkins brings extensive experience in public affairs, strategic communications, and advocacy to the firm. Jenkins’ arrival completes a fully integrated public affairs offering in South Carolina, bringing government affairs and communications under one strategy for clients in the state.

Cornerstone’s Columbia office pairs deep South Carolina government relations expertise with the firm’s national Public Affairs & Strategic Communications practice, aligning legislative advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and strategic messaging to advance clients’ policy and business objectives.

Jenkins most recently served as a vice president at The Herald Group, where she developed and managed multifaceted advocacy campaigns for clients across health care, transportation, legal reform, technology, and other industries. She led a portfolio of client accounts, provided senior-level strategic direction, managed client relationships and teams, and developed advocacy strategies utilizing grassroots and grasstops engagement, thought leadership, advertising, third-party partnerships, and media relations.

Prior to The Herald Group, Jenkins gained legislative experience on Capitol Hill, serving as a legislative correspondent for Rep. William Timmons (R-S.C.). Her policy portfolio included health care, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, judiciary, environment and other key legislative issues.

She previously worked with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and interned in the office of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Jenkins is a native of Spartanburg and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College.
