Dear Chamber Partners,

After much thought and reflection, I have made the decision to step down as president and CEO of the Columbia Chamber to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Serving the Columbia Chamber since 2014 has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career. Over the past twelve years, I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredible board of directors, a talented and dedicated staff, and engaged chamber partners who are deeply committed to strengthening our business community and improving the quality of life throughout the Midlands.

While this decision was not an easy one, I leave with immense pride in all that we have accomplished together and with great confidence in the future of the Columbia region. Through a shared commitment to collaboration among business, government, education, military, nonprofit, and community leaders, Columbia has grown stronger and more connected than ever. The region is well-positioned for continued growth and prosperity, with a strong foundation built on partnership, innovation, and a collective vision for the future.

The board of directors will begin a comprehensive search for the Chamber's next president and CEO. The search committee will be chaired by current Board Chair Terrance Ford, and I know they will identify an outstanding leader to build upon the Chamber's strong foundation and continue advancing its mission.

Thank you for the trust, encouragement, and friendship you have shown me throughout my time with the Chamber. It has truly been a privilege to serve this organization and our region. Although I am excited about this next chapter, I will always be grateful for my time with the Columbia Chamber and the relationships I have built along the way.

I look forward to watching the Columbia Chamber continue to thrive and wish nothing but continued success for this remarkable organization and the business community it serves.

Take care,

Carl W. Blackstone

President & CEO
