How do you define leadership?

Leadership, to me as a financial consultant, is guiding junior associates to think critically, act ethically, and make decisions that serve clients' long-term interests. It means modeling discipline and accountability everyday while investing time to coach, challenge, and empower others to grow.

What makes you an effective leader? (Your greatest strength). What are you still working on?

I try to be consistently patient, nonjudgmental, understanding, and encouraging while working with junior associates on our team. However, I'm still working on delegating ownership earlier in the learning process, allowing junior associates to navigate complex situations before stepping in too quickly.

Is there a mentor who has meant a lot to you in your career?

Wendy M. Brewer, private wealth financial adviser and managing partner at Roseate Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, has been a close and trusted colleague. I'm continually inspired by her strength, work ethic, and passion for personal and professional growth to best serve our clients and colleagues.

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

It's crucial not to belittle, discourage, or alienate junior associates as they're learning and growing; so I manage their fear or anxiety by being a consistent source of warmth and support who they can openly and honestly talk to without fear of judgment.

What would you say is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?

I am passionate about continually growing personally and professionally. As a lifelong learner, I have continued pursuing new certifications and programs to help me better serve my clients and colleagues. I hold the Certified Financial Planner certification from the CFP Board of Standards, Inc. and earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American Collage of Financial Services. Additionally, I obtained the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) certification through the Investments & Wealth Institute. This program is taught in conjunction with the Yale School of Management and focuses on ultra-high-net-worth client strategies.
