The South Carolina Small Business Development Centers (SC SBDC), a state provider of business assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners, announces that five clients were recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration-South Carolina District Office (SBA) as it prepares for National Small Business Week, which will take place May 4-10.

"We are proud to celebrate the success of our outstanding clients—trailblazers in South Carolina’s small business community—and look forward to honoring them during National Small Business Week!" said SC SBDC Director Michele Abraham.

Mr. Michael Haldeman, Owner of SpokeWorks Bicycle Workshop, Summerville, SC

The SBA has named SC SBDC client Mike Haldeman South Carolina’s Small Businessperson of the Year in recognition of his business growth, innovation, and contributions to his community.

Haldeman, along with other state winners, will be considered for the National Small Businessperson of the Year to be announced on May 5 at the National Small Business Week kick-off and awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Rita Wilson, Alphagraphics Beaufort, S.C.

 

Mr. Thomas Loffredo, Patriot Global Services LLC, Seneca, S.C.

Ms. Lauren Matthews, MattLane Construction, Inc., Columbia, S.C.

 

The Florence Area SBDC, led by Area Manager and business consultant Scott Mace, was named the state’s SBDC Center of Excellence and Innovation.

All South Carolina award winners will be recognized on May 9 at the 12th Annual Small Business Week Conference hosted by the City of Columbia.
